Accommodation

Coming from near or far, we recommend staying in Verchaix. Of course there is booking.com and airbnb but we suggest a charming hamlet of 50 Savoyard chalets, located just 150m from Ferme du Buchet. With accommodations to suit every budget, it’s a perfect place to stay.

Les Hameaux du Giffre

We recommend booking accommodation at Les Hameaux du Giffre, a hamlet of 50 chalets, just 150m across the road from Ferme du Buchet.

 

We have visited the hamlet to check out the properties and meet with Franck who operates the hamlet. Each chalet is privately owned however the site is operated as 1 entity. 

We have been given the rates listed below however there are different levels of modernisation/ facilities (air conditioning, king size beds, washing machines etc.) within each category so please use the rates below as a guide price and when contacting Franck on: infos@hameaux-du-giffre.com

Additional things to note:

  • Tourist tax (‘Taxe de séjour’) is 0.75 EUR per person/per night, payable directly at the accommodation.

  • There is a 15 EUR charge per booking i.e. if you are a family/group and book 2x chalets at the same time you will pay the 15 EUR booking fee only once

  • The price includes chalet rental, water, electricity, Wi-Fi, access to the games room, play park and the fitness room (new for 2025) . Not included but optional extras are: Linen, towels & cots.

  • Generally, the chalets all sleep the PAX stated in bedrooms (there are a few with sofa beds). Some beds are doubles, some twins, some are bunks so please check the links with the prices above if you are after a specific configuration.

  • Minimum bookings are 3 nights HOWEVER, if you are local like to stay for 1x night of Saturday 23 May 2026 only, then please contact Franck with your request, he will then reach out to the individual chalet owners with the request.

    • For 1x night (23/05/2026 only) -If you would like to group up with other local friends then please reach out to Alex/Tom who can tell you who else you might know, has RSVP’d. I would be a little flexible on the chalet and maybe just request how many beds & type of beds (twin/ double etc.) you require.

    • For 3+ nights, I would advise looking at the links above to request a specific chalet/s for your dates.

  • I have only spoken/ emailed with Franck in French, so if you don’t speak/write in French I’m sure a quick google translate of your email would be appreciated so that he doesn’t have to translate every message.
